Yaniyah Pearson, M.A. is a talented facilitator, trainer, and consultant in the areas of youth and community development, leadership development, and conflict resolution, and stress management in the workplace. Yaniyah has traveled extensively as a facilitator and has trained hundreds of youth and youth workers in Uzbekistan, Russia, Germany, and Great Britain in addition to the United States. As a consultant she works with youth-serving agencies to design programs that supports the growth and development of young leaders.

She began her work in the field of human development in 1981. She has been a practitioner of meditation, Native American and African spirituality, and shamanic journeying. She skillfully integrates these principles into practical approaches for personal and group development. As a former director of YouthBuild Brownsville, a vocational program for youth who have dropped out of high school, Yaniyah designed a life-skills curriculum that incorporated physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. She also worked as a consultant to YouthBuild USA to co-design a professional development intensive training on the Youth Development as a transformational process.

The Transformation In Action (TIA) Institute  provides on-site consultation, staff development, team building, and program development to businesses, community-based and educational organizations in these areas:

Yaniyah Pearson is also a cultural activist and a performing artist. She is a member of the Aleah Long's En Full Circle ensemble that creates music and spoken word that celebrates interconnectedness and planetary consciousness. Yaniyah is an author whose latest work is featured in Jennifer Hawthorne's “The Soul of Success: A Woman’s Guide to Authentic Power, and Life Lessons for Loving the Way You Live.  She is currently writing a memoir called Working with the Sacred: The Spiritual Transformation of a Helping Professional. Her speculative fiction novel, Wind Island, is scheduled to be published soon.

She received her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the Lesley College Graduate School in Cambridge Massachusetts and her B.A. in Political Science from Brandeis University. She received extensive training from the NTL Training Institute in Human Interaction and Fielding Institute Human and Organizational Development. She resides with her life partner in New York's Hudson Valley region.
